Rakow and Schoon receive Heinz-Mittelmeier-Forschungspreis 2016

The Heinz-Mittelmeier-Forschungspreis 2016 has been given to Anastasia Rakow and Janosch Schoon for their work "Influence of particulate and dissociated metal-on-metal hip endoprosthesis wear on mesenchymal stromal cells in vivo and in vitro". The German Society for Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Surgery e. V. awarded the 5.000 Euro prize on 26th October.

Every year the prize is awarded to young physicians, engineers or scientists for outstanding research and development work in the field of bioceramics and wear problems in endoprostheses and in connection with clinical results of ceramic implants.
